Transboundary Water Sharing: Risk Perceptions Held by Texas Border Decision Makers

Despite transboundary water resource management issues being a source of tension between neighboring states, little research has addressed what causes cooperation or conflict between differing governments along borders. A Rose Inspires Smart Way to Collect and Purify Water

A new device for collecting and purifying water, developed at The University of Texas at Austin, was inspired by a rose and, while more engineered than enchanted, is a dramatic improvement on current methods. Each flower-like structure costs less than 2 cents and can produce more than half a gallon of water per hour per square meter. Full story from UT News →

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lee Kucera and Callaway Aimone to the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority Board of Directors for terms set to expire on May 1, 2023 and May 1, 2025, respectively. Additionally, the Governor reappointed Charles “Charlie” Taylor and Leonard Steffek for terms set to expire on May 1, 2025.
Governor Greg Abbott reappointed Aaron C. Bulkley and appointed Gene Allen and Lynda Ables to the Upper Guadalupe River Authority Board of Directors with terms set to expire on February 1, 2025. Additionally, the Governor appointed Austin Dickson to a term set to expire on February 1, 2021.
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kirby Hollingsworth to the Sulphur River Basin Authority Board of Directors for a term set to expire on February 1, 2021.

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Gloria Milian Matt to the Gulf Coast Authority Board of Directors for a term set to expire on August 31, 2021.
Governor Abbott has reappointed Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Jacobs and appointed Joshua A. “Josh” McAdams and Kevin M. Williams to the Sabine River Authority Board of Directors for terms set to expire on July 6, 2025.
