VISION
v i·sion /ˈviZHən/: the ability to think about or plan the future with Wisdom & Imagination (and don't forget Love and Liberation).
JUSTICE
Standing For Justice
As Martin Luther King, Jr famously said, "Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed." At the very heart of the work of justice is not just ideological commitment, but sufficient courage to take ideas into action, and perhaps the most often overlooked quality: a willingness to sacrifice. Rev. angel has taken her commitment to justice off the cushion—from behind the safety of a pulpit and being a talking head—into the streets in protest, door-to-door to organize and mobilize, onto the Capitol mall in civil disobedience, in lockdowns, sit-ins and more. She has continuously and consistently demanded freedom from oppression for all.
Each of these actions has been grounded in an evolving Theory of Transformation that goes beyond the idea or aspiration towards Justice and takes the RISK of putting her body and resources on the line to put justice into practice.

To learn more about Rev. angel's work on JUSTICE, start by reading an excerpt from Radical Dharma on Social Justice and Buddhism in which she explains how we must, and how we can, align our practice with our actions in the world. Then hear Rev. angel talk about holding the complexity of who we are in America and Why Meditation Is Not Enough on the CTZN podcast with Kerry Kelly. If you're an activist looking to incorporate Rev. angel's approach into your own work for justice, check out her in-depth webinar dedicated to people just like you, Mindfulness For Activists.

GET
GET when you GIVE towards JUSTICE
In a monumental talk—knowing it to be the last public talk of 2019. the 400th anniversary of African people's enslaved on this land—Rev. angel opens a new avenue of her discourse on justice by addressing the necessity of the work of emancipation — "getting out of the hand that binds" — from the system. Without such work, we are not free enough to even recognize the path of liberation. Compliments of loveStream.
Give generously. Get generosity in return. (Receive by December 28.) CORRECTION: Day 4 session video is of Rev. angel's talk at Conspire 2017, rather than the panel discussion.
