She may not have been lucky in love on this year's Celebs Go Dating, but Kerry Katona is single no more after confirming her romance with boyfriend Ryan Mahoney.

Kerry revealed that she had been with Ryan for "over a year and a half" on Instagram yesterday (December 11), prompting many to wonder why the singer had taken part in E4's dating show earlier this year.

Responding to The Sun's claims that her relationship with Ryan had been kept a "secret", Kerry told fans that the press are "always" looking for an angle, and that the couple only moved in together in March of this year – around the same time Celebs Go Dating aired on E4.

The former Atomic Kitten star also explained that she and Ryan had paused their relationship at the time, but remained friends. She said their relationship hit a roadblock because she "got scared of committing".

"Er Kerry hasn't let anything slip!! Ryan has been in my life for a year and a half!! He moved in with me in March this year you doughnuts!!!" Kerry wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot of the reports about her relationship.

"We stopped being in a relationship cos I got scared of committing but [remained] friends!!! Ryan knew what my last relationship was like and gave me all the time I needed!! God what is it with you press? You've always got to try and find some bloody angle!!"

She added: "First he was my toyboy lover and now he's my secret boyfriend can't wait to see what he's gonna be tomorrow!!"
