Look - we've all made mistakes, especially when it comes to our hair. Maybe you went H.A.M on the highlights in your post-lockdown salon appointment. Maybe you jumped the Gun and did a Kaia Gerber, bleaching your hair blonde DIY style on lockdown.

Whatever the hair sin, it's a fact well-known that bleaching your hair comes with the necessary evil of damage to the hair shaft. That's where our good friend Olaplex has always stepped in, with its revolutionary, intensive products both in-salon at at home.

And, blessing of blessings, Olaplex have treated us to their most potent treatment yet - scientifically proven to encourage 68% more repair. Available at Space NK and Feel Unique, Olaplex No.0 can currently be bought as part of a kit, also featuring the No.3 Hair Protector.

How to use Olaplex's new No.0 treatment

It's recommended that first, the No.0 should be applied to dry, detangled hair and allowed for process for at least 10 minutes. Importantly, don't rinse the No.0 - just skip straight onto applying No.3, combing through as needed.

Use this two-step at-home treatment as often as needed (at least once per three hair washes should work), and you should see the restorative properties kicking in, creating shiny, healthier locks.

How does Olaplex work?

Olaplex's bond-strengthening treatments work by going deep into the hair strand (rather than remaining on the surface of your hair), meaning the treatment is reparative rather than just shine-enhancing.

Bleaching, heat tools, sun damage and certain styling/brushing techniques can disrupt the 'disulphide bonds' in your hair, and so Olaplex is almost like an intervention, repairing those bonds. In other words, it treats the cause, rather than the symptom, of dull, broken-looking hair.

With a leave-on time of only 10 minutes, this is also record-time for such an intensive hair remedy.

That said, one commenter shared a brilliant hack in response to the grid shot on Olaplex's instagram - asking "Is it okay to leave it longer than 10minutes? Like overnight and wash in the morning?".

In response, while Olaplex were careful to advise not to leave products overnight in order to avoid contact with the eyes, they mentioned that those who've tried Olaplex No.0 overnight had shared "great feedback", reiterating that the "10 minutes" advice was a 'minimum'.

If you're keen to try, act fast - this one will sell out, guaranteed.
