LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer goalkeeper
Emma Yoder was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Western Division Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week following back-to-back shutout victories over Clarion University and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.Â
In two games last week, Yoder went 2-0-0 with eight saves and no goals allowed over 180 minutes of playing time.Â
The sophomore helped SRU to a 3-0 victory over Clarion on the road, recording one save and tallying her second win of 2019 and the fourth shutout of her career.
Yoder followed her performance at Clarion with a 4-0 shutout win over Pitt-Johnstown when she recorded three saves.Â

Yoder became the first Rock women's soccer player since
Kylie Downs in 2018 to record back-to-back shutout victories.

The Ada, Michigan native has been solid through the first four games of 2019. Yoder has recorded a 0.50 goals against average with 16 saves, and a .889 save percentage allowing just two goals.
Monday's award was the second weekly honor of Yoder's career.Â

Slippery Rock continues PSAC Western Division play when it returns home to host Seton Hill University 1 p.m. Wednesday at James Egli Field.Â
