There was an unofficial debut for Takefusa Kubo as Real Madrid took on and lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich on Saturday night.

The 18-year-old Japanese talent spoke afterwards about the excitement that his presence in Real Madrid's pre-season camp is generating back in Japan.

"I know what's happening in my country," he said after the match.

"People are a bit...

"There is a lot of focus placed on me, and I don't really like that.

"I do my thinking on the pitch."

Despite losing the match, Kubo was happy about his run-out in a Real Madrid shirt.

"I'm very happy about my debut with Real Madrid, even though we lost and even though I always hate to lose," he said.

"My plan is to help the team as much as possible."

Kubo was also asked what Zinedine Zidane's instructions were for him against the German side.

"It was about pressing and playing quickly with one or two touches," he said.

"I feel comfortable in whatever zone they place me."

Finally, he was asked if Gareth Bale had already said goodbye to the rest of the squad.

"No, because he is here with us," Kubo said.

"I don't know what's happening.

"I'm not the guy to have an opinion about this.

"I just know that Bale is a great player."
