United Flight Attendant Fired After Working Visibly Intoxicated

A flight attendant for a United Express flight from Chicago to South Bend, Indiana has been fired after working the flight visibly intoxicated. Passengers say that the lone flight attendant in the cabin was clearly drunk from the start and unable to perform basic safety duties.

Flight attendant Julianne March was part of the Air Wisconsin crew working the short United Express flight. On these single cabin flights, there is only one cabin crew member. March was reportedly slurring her speech during the safety briefing and bumping into passengers while walking down the aisle.

She was also seen slumped in her jump seat without fastening her seatbelt. The pilots could not get ahold of March over the phone as all calls from the cockpit and passengers went unanswered.

How this flight even took off is baffling. Shouldn’t the gate agents or pilots have noticed something amiss when they boarded the aircraft? March’s blood-alcohol level was 0.204 — five times the legal limit for flight attendants. She has since been fired by Air Wisconsin.
