MPHS Virtual Bell Schedule
Manassas Park High School students will be following this 'bell' schedule Tuesday through Friday of each week. During each block there will be synchronous (live) instruction from your child's teacher via Zoom. This will also be supplemented by asynchronous activities that students will complete the rest of the block. Cougar Time will be used for socioeomotional support, remediation, Special Education support, English Language Learner support, asterisk student work completion, and various extension activities. On Monday's, students will have assigned asynchronous work to complete for each class. Teacher office hours will be on Monday's from 2:00-3:30. Additional details about the first day of school and where to find class Zoom links will be shared soon. Once their schedules are set, students will receive an email on their mpcs email accounts with an invitation to join Canvas pages. Students will log in to Canvas, accept the invitations for each course, and will be able to see a Canvas course on the dashboard for each of their classes. All assignments, announcements, activities, modules, zoom links, etc. will be via Canvas. PowerSchool will house their grades for each class. Students WILL BE GRADED in each of their courses this school year.

Attention Athletes!
We have been cleared to begin out of season workouts on September 10th. Student athletes must be registered in order to participate in these workouts AND have a current physical on file.

Coaches will be trained on proper safety procedures and an athletic health plan will be followed to ensure the safety of students and staff. Student athletes are reminded that in order to be eligible for athletic participation, they must be enrolled in a full course load for semester 1.

Parent Reminders

- Become familiar with using the PowerSchool Parent Portal: https://www.mpark.net/parents/powerschool-for-parents . This is where your child's grades will be posted. Please make sure you have an accurate email address entered as this will be the primary means of communication between you and the school.
- Schedules are tentatively set to be released on PowerSchool on Wednesday, September 2.

PSAT/NMSQT Info
We’re following up to share details about a new Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) that will be offered in January 2021. As many schools adopt remote learning this fall, we're expanding our testing opportunities across fall and winter for this school year. To provide the most opportunity for the greatest number of students:
We’re offering another administration on January 26, 2021.
The January administration will have the same benefits as the October PSAT/NMSQT, including eligibility for programs administered by National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
