God always places it on my heart who should be blessed at the very right moment. Paying it forward should be something we do without even a thought. I too have had those angels of blessing when I had aa house fire and the angels brought me the change from the salvation army offering that evening at church. I didn't know it but that is the only thing i could think of and they brought us pajamas as well to where the american red cross put us up for the night. Blessings. come in many forms..

Thank you for the giveaway. It is sometimes not possible to thank someone in the same way when they helped you during a difficult time, so paying it forward has become a meaningful and vital way for me to continue my life journey. The person I help sometimes learns my name, and sometimes I remain anonymous, respecting the past and celebrating today to keep Christmas in my heart all year.

Paying it forward is what Jesus did for us which is the greatest gift there is. In giving it forward, even though we can never come even remotely close to what the Lord has done for us, we show the love of Christ to others, whether a fellow believer needing something tangible or an encouragement or someone needing a kingdom experience that will help lead them to a salvation experience, giving it forward is always a win-win for the giver as well as the receiver.

When I read: "I mean, you're going to win, right? You're already a winner!" I thought to myself, yes I am a winner because I'll be blessed by blessing someone. Then I read further down and you confirmed what I thought!
Here is what you wrote:
It's our experience that you can't bless someone else without being blessed in the process. So even as you pay forward a blessing this Christmas season, get ready for a blessing to come into your life too!

I actually had an opportunity to 'pay it forward' yesterday. I was at my local petrol station filling my car, where a young couple were looking for some jumper leads to jump-start their car that had a flat battery. The proprietors of the petrol station didn't seem interested in helping them, so I offered to help, as I carry jumper leads in my boot. A few minutes later they were off on their way again, and it felt good to have helped them!

Had a wonderful opportunity to bless someone today. She's a shop owner who wasn't able to get away for her afternoon coffee or lunch and she mentioned that she couldn't wait until closing because she was so hungry. So I popped into a cafe down the street and purchased a blueberry muffin and cup of joe for her. When I returned to her shop she was shocked and gave me a hug. I had the opportunity to tell her I was sharing God's blessings and that the Lord knew she needed her afternoon caffeine :) It was a small gesture but I pray her heart was touched.

I pledge to bless someone's life in a tangible way this Thanksgiving and Christmas season! One of the ways I like to do this is both with materialistic and physical ways. My Mom started the tradition of making homemade goodie boxes and then hand delivering them to friends, loved ones, professional folks that helped her through the year, shut ins, elderly and those just needing it. She would bake up candy, hand pies, cakes and cookies of all sorts. Then she would make sure each box had some of all of it. The greatest thrill she said was getting to spend time with them when she delivered them saying it was a present that went both ways meaning she enjoyed it as much if not more than the one receiving the box. Mom's gone on to her heavenly home, but I love continuing the tradition. And you know what? She was right - giving to others is the best gift we can give ourselves. Especially during the holidays visiting and spending time with those that may not have anyone cost us nothing but a little time, but it may mean the world to someone else.

November 22, 2022 at 2:49 pm

Kay, thank you for sharing your Mom's tradition. How wonderful that you are continuing it in her honor.

This is so wonderful! Every year I choose a word that I want to live by for that year - this year was GIVE! I've been trying to give in different ways all year whether it be money, food, time, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen whatever is needed at the time. I also got my co-workers on board and once a quarter we've been donating to a charity that receives no government assistance and is not heavily publicized. In December, I along with my coworkers will be donating gifts to a family in need. This has been such a rewarding year for me that I've decided to make GIVE my life word! Winner or not, for y'all to be doing this just brings a huge smile to my face. Thank you for your hard work in your writing, thank you for bringing us amazing stories and thank you for these generous gifts. God Bless You All!

November 22, 2022 at 2:51 pm

Lise, I love your One Word for 2022. You've changed your life, your co-workers lives, and so many others' lives too. I've chosen One Words for 16 years now. My 2022 One Word was "Pray," and I'm going to hold onto it for 2023.

I love the Blessings brought to me each day. I return that quite often as that gives me something beautiful when the person is unsure who provided the special little thing they needed - that particular day!
Reply

November 21, 2022 at 8:22 pm

Everyday is the perfect day to pay it forward, but it's oh so much sweeter when you can do something for someone without them knowing. It's even better when they have no idea a human hand had a part in their blessing. I leave things that someone may need in my Little Free Library. The difference is that it is not in front of my home, but in a public park and I am the steward and caretaker of it, but that is only one way. The fun is finding creative ways to be an anonymous blessing to someone.

My husband and I try to share baked goods with our neighbors most holidays. It helps us to meet our neighbors and give them something nice to eat. We’ve had neighbors who felt they couldn’t receive unless they gave us something in return. And then we would receive something from them. During the pandemic all the old neighbors have moved away and we now have new neighbors. So it should be fun this year!

What a lovely idea, Tamera! I pay God's love forward all year round, so this is right up my alley. I will, of course, be doing the same this Christmas season. I recently helped organize a book fundraiser to help a friend who lost all of her hundreds of books due to a severe mold allergy that forced her family to move halfway across the country to an area with less molds. I also was happy to purchase a trio of Sarah Sundin's books for her, because I knew they were some of her favorites (as well as mine). The participants and the recipient were all grateful for my organizational skills and service in this way. It's been a blessing to see how God has worked through this book-raiser. As for this Christmas season, I'm not yet sure what the exact pay-it-forward act will be, but I'll be keeping my eyes and heart open for opportunities. There will certainly be more than one that shows up.

The Bible says if you brag about what you’ve done, that is your reward. I don’t want that to be my reward, so I’m through talking!

I love the "Pay it forward idea, all year round, but especially at this time of year, when people get even busier than normal, which can lead to stress and short tempers. A kind word or deed, entirely unexpected, can completely change a person's outlook, especially if they've had a bad day, week, month, etc. I've had that happen to me.

Oh my word! I would love to be a blessing to two women in my life by giving them these books! My one friend who has been a mentor to me has been literally in the trenches of hell ministering to a daughter who is dying of cancer and as a result of the diagnosis is psychotic. My friend has had to step in and help her daughter and her granddaughter who is two years old! There is so much pain and grief but she loves to read! What a blessing this would be to her!! My other friend reads everything I give her and she suddenly lost her husband.. he died in her arms of a massive heart attack in his sleep. She is floundering.. reading helps keep both of them sane a bit I would love to be able to bless them.. but even if my name isn’t picked I will probably do something like this on a smaller scale anyway❤️

I will pay a blessing forward. I love doing this. I did have trouble signing up for this promotion and for other ones due to being blind and using a text to speech screen reader and accessibility signing up for promotions. The buttons are not labeled properly so that I found it hard to find actual places on where to type in the information in the fields. I was not able to easily sign up without cited assistance which is very frustrating and discouraging. I am using an iPhone and voiceover is the text to speech which makes it accessible usually. But not if the designer of the webpage or app or site has not set things up so that it will work with a text to speech screen reader.
I absolutely love reading and I’m excited that this promotion is for e-books! Thank you!

I live in SW Florida and our area has been devastated by Hurricane Ian. Hundreds of families lost everything. My husband and I are blessed - losing only connectivity. So, we are sponsoring a family for Christmas - Dad, Mom, and little girl. They have nothing left but a shell. We are happy to be their "Santa" this year. Our church is sponsoring their entire community and I am dressing as Santa's elf for their Christmas party.

I promise to pay the kindness forward this Christmas. I've been surrounded by some people being unkind to each other lately so I am trying to pay kindness forward already in hopes it rubs off.

I always enjoy paying it forward esp during this time of year. What's really fun is sending gifts anonymously especially when someone needs encouragement or having a rough time.

I promise to be a blessing to someone this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. (One thing I'm doing is sending a missionary friend of mine some homemade Christmas ornaments!)
