Marvel's longstanding chauffeur/filmmaker Jon Favreau has said he's "cautiously hopeful" that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will remain in the shared universe.
This comes off the back of the shocking news that Sony Pictures and Marvel were recently unable to come to an agreement regarding the rights for Spidey films, meaning that his MCU future was effectively cast into doubt despite major popularity.

Walking the red carpet during today's (August 23) Disney Legends Awards at the D23 Expo, Favreau told ET Online that Spidey's potential departure could mess up his own character Happy Hogan's romance with Aunt May.
"After all that time, it took 10 years for him to get to a good relationship!" he joked.
"It's still early days. As a fan, [I'm] cautiously hopeful that something will come together, because I think all the fans wanna see those characters together. I don't mean Happy and May, I mean Spidey with the MCU."
He added: "So, still early days. Things don't always – what you read isn't always indicative of where things are now, so hopefully I'll find out more while I'm here.
"But as a fan, I'm hopeful that... you know, cautiously optimistic. Holding out hope that this isn't the final chapter of that story."
Fingers crossed his positivity sees some results.
