San Diego!
Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the beloved annual event in Old Town San Diego set for Nov. 1-4, including a candlelight procession on Nov. 2. Activities will be held all around Old Town including at Fiesta de Reyes and at Bazaar del Mundo Shops and will feature live music, food, drinks, face painting, artisan shows and sugar skull workshops. Tour museums and shops featuring dramatic and festive Day of the Dead altars. Dia de los Muertos is considered to be one of the most important holidays of the year by many in Mexico and other Latin American countries. New Airline Offering
Direct Service from Carlsbad to Take Off in November!
Commercial service from Carlsbad to four destination cities is about to take off. California Pacific Airlines will offer direct service from McClellan-Palomar Airport to San Jose on Nov. 1 and Reno, Nevada, on Nov. 2. Flights to Las Vegas and Phoenix-Mesa start Nov. 15. The service gives North County residents a convenient alternative to San Diego International Airport – saving more than one hour of commute time. Bazaar del Mundo Shops Hosting Dia de los Muertos Activities!
Old Town San Diego’s beloved Bazaar del Mundo Shops will pay homage to the dead with Día de los Muertos activities Nov. 1-3, in conjunction with Old Town’s Día de Los Muertos event, which includes the “Tour of Altars” at more than 40 altars throughout Old Town (on Nov. 1), a candlelight procession (6 p.m. Nov. 2), live entertainment, face-painting, crafts and more. Gallops Into Del Mar!
The Del Mar Racetrack welcomes its Del Mar Fall Racing Festival racing season Nov. 9-Dec. 2. In addition to fast horses, Del Mar hosts several great events such as College Day on Nov. 10, two free concerts by “Pepper” (Nov. 10) and Easton Corbin (Nov. 24), Uncorked Wine Fest on Nov. 17, a special Thanksgiving  Day brunch in the Turf Club, and much more! Olaf Wieghorst Museum and Western Heritage Center Hosts Movie Night!
Join the Olaf Wieghorst Museum and Western Heritage Center for Movie Night on Nov. 2! The museum will screen "Cowboys and Aliens" with Harrison Ford & Daniel Craig. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Learn more here. The museum is dedicated to artist Olaf Wieghorst, who created magnificent portrayals of the 19th-century American West, along with the Native American Indians, cowboys and settlers who shaped it. The museum’s two galleries display several of the artist’s works. The original home of Mae and Olaf Wieghorst was moved to the museum grounds and has been designated a historic landmark by the city of El Cajon. The restoration of the home to its original condition, including landscaping, has been completed and the home is now open for public tours.
