In fact, the city’s education system received one of the highest grades in the report, and the highest graduation rate of all of the towns and cities evaluated by Money with a 98% graduation rate.
According to news reports Frisco beat out more than 580 communities in grabbing the top spot; factors used in determining rank included median home prices, school graduation rates, diversity, economic health and local amenities. Housing availability was also a critical factor.
Frisco.com claims the city’s population is about three-quarters white. In choosing the top 50 best places to live in the U.S., areas with high crime rates were downgraded, with any cities with crime risks double that of the national average eliminated. The Frisco Independent School District includes over 70 campuses, and is lauded for the city’s Ford Center at The Star and other public-private partnerships. Another popular city in Texas, Flower Mound, also ranked among the top 50; it was rated at the number 16 best place to live in the U.S. With both of these cities being outlying suburbs of Dallas, it’s easy to see why North Texas is a popular destination of families and career professionals!
