CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have arrested and charged a teen they say was in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Deputies responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle driving in the area of the Hunt Club Subdivision Sunday just after 8:00 a.m. They made a traffic stop on the car at the gas station near the intersection of Bees Ferry Road and Grand Oaks Boulevard.

Three people exited the car, while it was still moving, and fled the scene, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Roger Antonio.

Deputies chased and captured one of the passengers, a juvenile. Authorities surrounded the area until the driver, another juvenile, exited the woods and surrendered.

Officers say they could not find the other passenger.

The driver was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights and driving without a license.

The passenger was released to a parent pending further investigation.
