Guitarists Devon Allman and Duane Betts have announced they are joining forces to form The Allman Betts Band, which will release its debut album in spring 2019.
Allman and Betts—the sons of Allman Brothers Band co-founders Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts, respectively—will also head out on tour with the new group, which features another Allman Brothers Band offspring, Berry Oakley Jr. (son of original ABB bassist Berry Oakley), along with slide guitarist Johnny Stachela and percussionists R. Scott Bryan and John Lum. In addition, former Gregg Allman Band keyboardist Peter Levin and former Allman Brothers keyboardist Chuck Leavell will make guest appearances on the album.

November 5, 2018 at 6:23 pmAre these ” kids” in their 40s now going to write some songs anyone actually cares about? How clever though to name a band that can be called ABB.
Now I like both of them but.

November 5, 2018 at 4:59 pmI’m so glad to read this. Both guys are great in their own right. Super cool to keep the tradition of the ABB alive!
