Augusta is one step closer to having a whitewater attraction on the Savannah River at the Old Savannah River Lock and Dam, which is officially known as the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam Park.
The Savannah Riverkeeper says commissioners approved a bid to bring in a designer.
The McLaughlin Group developed a similar course in Columbus, Georgia. They will lay out the course and develop a master plan for Augusta’s river resources.
