Larger than many of the other villages on this stretch of coastline, Maiori has a wonderful sandy beach and is a great spot for shopping and restaurants. It also has a rich history, with churches that date back centuries and are still in use today. The oldest is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which has stood on the same spot since the year 596! A walk up the nearby hillsides will also bring you to some fascinating historic fortifications, as well as offering magnificent views.

Vietri Sul Mare
Vietri Sul Mare is centred around its main landmark, the 18th-century Church of Saint John the Baptist, and a warren of little streets spreads outwards from it like a maze. Like in so many Amalfi Coast towns, you could easily spend hours just wandering the lanes here – but what makes Vietri different from its neighbours is, without doubt, its ceramics. Vietri Sul Mare ceramics are famous throughout the region, and the town centre is full of ornately-decorated shop fronts and beautiful tiled surfaces. Make sure you have some space in your luggage!
