15 Tools that make me more efficient, every single day. 🎯

As a brand new father and entrepreneur, I’m constantly trying to find that work-life balance and invest my time wisely. Definitely not the only one, so I'm sharing the 15 tools that make me more efficient every day.

1. Workplace 🎯 for no-BS office communication.

Our team loved using Slack, so when we made the switch to Workplace not everyone was convinced. (Isn't that right Arnaud?) But once we all moved to Workplace, we didn’t look back. It’s a creative and flexible platform to communicate, plan, and share all within the company, even organized into separate teams. It’s social and simple in a way only Facebook could think up. Well done Mark! (link)

2. Feedly 🎯 for daily summary.

I love to read daily articles, the only pity being that I don’t always have time to read as much as I’d like. Feedly is super efficient as it delivers bite-size insights from specific topics you choose in 5 minute digestible reads. It boosts my inspiration while giving the most important takeaways of the day. (link)

3. Podio 🎯 the project progress in my pocket.

With all the projects we’re juggling simultaneously at StoryMe - from sales to production - Podio is an irreplaceable project management tool: it organizes, tracks progress, and offers a clean and simple overview for everyone. When I’m at the office, I log meeting notes and when I’m not, I can track changes across all of our departments to keep up with everyone. (link)

4. Headspace 🎯 peace of mind anywhere, anytime.

Think of this app as a personal trainer for the mind. Sometimes I just need to find clarity and peace during the hectic days. It offers an easy way to experience guided meditation in spurts of whatever time I have. From 5 to 15 minutes, this app helps me keep zen no matter where I go. Most of the time. (link)

5. Zoom 🎯 for group video conferencing.

With international teams, when it comes to meetings we need a solid video conferencing tool. Not a huge fan of Hangout or Skype because not everyone has an account and the connection can be tricky. This app is great because it creates an effortless group conferencing experience, with no lost passwords or sign-in fiascos. Just share the link and boom! You're live. (link)

6. Hello 🎯 for even better video conferencing.

A software tool is great, but what about hardware for efficient video conferencing? This Kickstarter project is 3x cheaper than competition, has a 4K image, wide angle for big group conferencing and a one click installation. So simple. (link)

6. Teamsnap 🎯 to manage your team, club, or league.

When I’m not working, I let off steam by playing sports. Hockey or soccer are the main ones. This app is definitely ugly but arranges your team in a clear and organized way. Whether you’re managing, coaching, or organizing game time, you can plan it easily for the whole group. Planned events and games link straight to your calendar. (link)

7. Xpenditure 🎯 goodbye accountant shoebox.

Whether I’m on work trips, vacation, or spending on personal things, this app is perfect for consolidating receipts and expenses in a digital and paperless way. Just by taking a photo of all the receipts, the app sorts all the important information and reports it to my accountant - instantly. I hate receipts, I love this app. (link)

8. Geckoboard 🎯 visualise the metrics that matter.

Everyone loves to know how he's doing but most of the time it's a pain to get the right info and visualise it. We project the most relevant ones on different TVs per department. (link)

9. Ted Talks App 🎯 inspirational ideas in video.

The best ideas out there should be shared. Ted Talks have been around for a long time, and this app is still super relevant. It’s great for plane, train and travel time - just when I need to get inspired. No internet? No problem. You can download talks based on your interests then sit back relax and watch. (link)

.

10. Coggle 🎯 mind mapping made easy.

Think of Coggle as Collaborative Mind Maps. Coggle is great for freeing up valuable headspace and organizing those complex ideas in a beautiful and simple way. When I have complex information to share with the teams or even my wife, I mind map. It helps me think more clearly and visualise it. Added plus: it's web based you don’t have to install anything what makes this tool even better. (link)

11. Autodraw 🎯 the intelligent drawing tool.

No, not everyone is born an artist, but with Autodraw really anyone can draw. This app combines the talent of actual artists and machine learning. So when you start drawing the base shape of something, the app will try and recognize what it is and offer a much better drawn alternative. (link)

12. Trello 🎯 visualize your to do's.

Trello keeps every project you have visually organized. Trello visually recaps all your to-do’s in a way that you can easily look over them to be sure you haven’t forgotten a single thing. It works like a funnel, from left to right, super simple to use. (link)

13. Google Drive 🎯 live collaboration.

Let’s be honest, what’s not to love about Google? It’s easy for creating documents and spreadsheets, it’s user-friendly and more importantly, I can share everything with the people I want in the wink of an eye. They can even edit or comment in the shared document at the same time, making teamwork and brainstorms way more efficient. (link)

14. Canva 🎯 create free designs in seconds.

You can create an easy design for just about anything in a matter of seconds. Sleek, stylish, and easy. I use it to pimp my keynotes or send a social card like this one. (link)

15. Clips 🎯 easy video editing on mobile.

After the keynotes or events I attend, I like to synthesize what I’ve learned for my team for our Monday Morning meetings. Clips by Apple allows you to edit without complicated software, and now anyone can create high quality videos with just that phone in their pocket. You can add fun text, pictures, effects, voice-overs and poop emojis. 💩 💩 💩 (link)
