Police & Fire: Police say man arrested after making threat, then driving drunk

DRUNKEN ASSAULT: A 26-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested after police said he threatened another man and then was stopped for drunken driving. Battle Creek officers were called to Riverside Drive after a man, 42, and his wife said they were threatened. The victim said he was driving in the parking lot of Lakeview Square mall at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday when another car was driving at him in the wrong lane. The victim avoided the collision and then started to park when the other driver approached and said "What, what" and the victim asked, "What is your problem?" He said that is when the other driver said "I'll solve this right now," and began reaching for the glove box of his car and then said, "I'll shoot you." The victim and his wife drove away and police were called. They said the other driver was stopped and arrested on charges of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of liquor and driving without a license. He was taken to the county jail. Police did not report finding a gun.

TEENS ARRESTED: Battle Creek police arrested two 18-year-old boys after officers were called to investigate possible thefts from vehicles. Officers were called at 1:41 a.m. Monday to the Arbors of Battle Creek, 3399 Capital Ave. S.W. after a resident saw people attempting to enter parked vehicles. Police obtained a license plate for a van and went to the home of the owner and saw several young people, including one described by the apartment complex resident, outside near the van. Two of them were apprehended and arrested on charges of resisting police. The investigation into vehicle larcenies is continuing.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Battle Creek police are seeking a warrant for one person after a man, 21, said he was assaulted in the in first block of South Place at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday.
