                            Video Production

3.25 billion is the total number of hours of video watched on YouTube. And, there are over 1,300,000,000 user channels. Organizations are aware of the power of video production;  especially well-produced video published to YouTube. 35% of businesses are using an intermediate or advanced analytics to measure the performance of the videos they've spent so much time and money to create. Once you’ve gotten started with a business YouTube channel the challenge is creating and maintaining a presence that engages current subscribers and pulls in new ones.

Vloggers make it look so easy. But, as a company, it’s understandable that you’d like to have a more professional touch to your videos. There are some simple YouTube vlogger tricks company channels can use without looking unprofessional. We’ve come up with 10 tips to increase your YouTube presence with well-produced video content.

  1. Channel Trailer: You should create a trailer for your channel that is high-energy and engaging. Use this 30-second video as a sort of elevator pitch about why viewers should subscribe to your channel. Set the trailer as your feature video. Anyone who clicks on your channel will be shown this video automatically.

  2. Ask: The old saying is true. You have not because you ask not. You would be hard-pressed to find a popular channel that doesn’t ask the viewer to comment, rate and subscribe. You don’t have to do this in a direct way using a voice over or talent. You can also use nice graphics and YouTube annotations.

  3. Transcribe The Content: Transcribing your video has multiple benefits. It will increase your SEO and search-ability in search engines. People will be able to find your video easier and you can organize them better. It’s also a good tool to translate the video into other languages and it can also be used for the hearing impaired.

  4. High-Quality Video: It seems this would go without saying. But, we’ve seen many business channels who have taken the time to higher talent, setup lighting, and tripod but you can’t hear what’s being said in their video because of a hiss. You have trouble understanding the content of the video because the quality is really low. The produced video doesn't always equal high-quality. If the quality isn't good people will not watch it. So, take some time to familiarize yourself with your equipment to ensure you get the quality necessary to attract and retain views.

  5. Playlist: You want to make it as easy as possible for viewers to watch more than one video. If they have to sift through dozens of videos to find the one they are interested in chances are they will give up and move on to something else easier to find. To prevent this, organize your channel into a playlist by topics. Think of your buyer persona or product and service offering and create a playlist based on that

  6. Cross Promote: Video views on Twitter grew 220X from December 2014 to December 2015, and 10 billion videos are watched on Snapchat every day. Be sure to cross-promote your videos on your social media channels to increase their viewership.

  7. Include tags: The tags feature on YouTube should be used as a way to capitalize on your keywords. Don’t keyword stuff but make sure you use ones that are most relevant and best describe your video content.

  8. Posting: You should post regularly at the same time and encourage subscribers to use the YouTube notification feature.

  9. Comments: Read and respond to comments. This will keep your subscribers engaged and encourage lurkers on your channel to chime in.

  10. Intro: You do want to keep your videos around two minutes or less. But, it’s also a good idea to add a short intro to each video that draws in the viewer.

We hope these tips are useful. We’d love to hear what you do to increase your YouTube presence. We’d also like to know what you think of well thought out produced videos for business and organizations.
