Read the Manual

My husband Don has had his truck for over 2 years. His visors don't have an extender panel that can be pulled out to extend the visor length. He wondered why the manufacturer left out something so important.

Recently, by looking in the owner's manual, he discovered that the whole visor pulls out so he can adjust where it is to block the sun. They are made differently than what he has used in the past.

As we were driving in my car, with visors that work the way Don was used to, he showed me how his work differently. He said that all the time he wondered and complained about the lack of a feature he needed could have been avoided by just looking in the manual to see how the owner made them.

"You know Mary, there's a blog in this."

Indeed there is!

All that time Don lamented that his visors didn't work like others he had used instead of checking to see how the maker intended his visors to work.

How many times to we try, over and over again, something we found successful in the past or what makes sense to us, only to find it does not work in our current situation?

God, our Creator, gave us His word to guide us. He does not expect us to have the answers or figure things out. He is our loving Maker, our Creator, and He always knows best!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
