As the COVID-19 virus pandemic continues to be a major concern for the world, the NBA remains in limbo as to whether or not it will resume play. Recall, the NBA halted play the moment a player (Utah's Rudy Gobert) tested positive for the virus.

The San Antonio Spurs had 19 games remaining on their regular-season schedule before the shut down and Spurs great David Robinson would like to see games restart he said to Florida's ESPN 98.1 WRUF.

"I'm not speaking on behalf of anybody but obviously we want the season to go on if we can," Robinson said. "We played a big chunk of it. We've seen what a lot of these teams can do. I'd kind of like to see a champion myself."

Said Robinson: "I'm hoping that things will come to some semblance of normal so we can resume but nobody knows."

Robinson did note the player's conditioning will be a matter to deal with but does't see a big issue with that should the season restart.

"It's going to take a couple of weeks to get back into top form," Robinson said.

Currently, the NBA has not released any official plan as to what it will do with the 2019-20 season. There has been rumblings of teams playing in Las Vegas or play in fan-less arenas.

As for seeing his former Spurs teammate - Tim Duncan - getting elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame, Robinson admits Duncan exceeded expectations.

"I'm so proud of Tim," Robinson said. "I feel kind of like a big brother. When I heard the announcement, obviously it was no surprise. I was just beaming for him."
