SullivanPerkins senior writer Michael Langley’s wife Allison is the Head of Paintings Conservation at the Art Institute of Chicago. To keep spirits up while the museum is closed, some staff are responding to the  #gettymuseumchallenge and “interpreting” classic works of art. Here we see Michael fully inhabiting the gravitas and holiness of Cardinal Fernando Nino de Guevara, as captured by El Greco. (The portrait hangs at the Met in New York.) Before the world shut down, the Art Institute was hosting a major El Greco exhibit. Check it out here:  https://www.artic.edu/exhibitions/2939/el-greco-ambition-and-defiance
