Our first look at David Tennant and Michael Sheen in the hotly-anticipated adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's Good Omens has arrived, and it is quite something.

Sharing a photo of the two leads in character on Twitter, Neil praised David and Michael as "amazing". (They look it, too.)

"This is them in the opening scenes, 11 years ago, in St James's Park," he wrote. "David and Michael, demon & angel."

We're not sure we've ever seen such a majestic transformation. Seriously, if David doesn't keep his hair like that for good, we riot.

Good Omens, a wonderful combination of comedy, horror, fantasy and drama, is being adapted by American Gods' Gaiman and is set to hit Amazon and BBC Two in 2019.

Admitting he was "nervous and excited" to see David and Michael take on the characters of Crowley and Aziraphale, Gaiman told the BBC: "Michael Sheen is the best and finest of bookseller angels, David Tennant the coolest and most delightful of demons.

"Together they are one hell of a double act (or do I mean one made in Heaven?)"

The six-part series is being adapted from the iconic novel Good Omens, which centres on two deities – Tennant and Sheen – as they try to stave off the oncoming apocalypse.

In an unexpected partnership, devilish Crowley (Tennant) and his heavenly counterpart Aziraphale (Sheen) work together to keep the Antichrist from bringing about the End Times.

Bring on the apocalypse is all we can say.

Good Omens will launch on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, and on BBC Two at a later date – and we're already counting down the days.
