WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A developer is hoping to build a 150-room hotel on a 3.45-acre lot on Porters Neck Road.

Gale Wallace, director of project management for Clarendon Properties, said Friday that the brand of hotel that would be placed at the site can't be released at this point because the franchise has not been approved.

The hotel, which would be located at 168 and 178 Porters Neck Road, would have 150 rooms over five stories, according to a preliminary plan. The project would include a patio/pool area and 161 parking spaces.

The project will require a Conditional Zoning District Approval from New Hanover County.

Per county requirements, the developer is holding a meeting for all property owners within 500 feet of the project's boundary as well as other interested parties.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. at Clarendon Properties at 107 Stokley Drive Unit 101. Developers will be able to answer questions concerning the project.
