Samsung has trademarked the name “Samsung Buds” in Europe, reports SamMobile, indicating that we could see a pair of new earphones released from the manufacturer soon. The application doesn’t give many more details than that, leading some to speculate that we might see a pair of true wireless earbuds, Bixby-focused earphones, or a combination of the two.

Samsung has had some skin in the true wireless game for a while with its fitness-tracking Gear IconX earbuds, which received a refresh in late 2017. Earlier this year, the company dropped the “Gear” branding from the Samsung Galaxy Watch (which followed the Samsung Gear S3).

Huawei also announced its own true wireless FreeBuds with a promise of 10 hours of battery life from a single charge, while last year’s Google Pixel Buds launched with the promise of having a Google-powered translation device directly in your ears.
