Couple who killed themselves in a swimming pool in Egypt ‘wanted to find out if there was life after death’
A camera fixed underwater recorded them as they drowned
AN Irish woman and her Egyptian husband who killed themselves in apparent suicide pact recorded a video saying they wanted to see if there was life after death.
The woman, 60, and her husband, 43, were found dead in a swimming pool at a villa owned by a friend in Hurghada, on Egypt's Red Sea coast.
A camera was fixed securely in the swimming pool and recorded them as they drowned.
Major General Hossam Kamal, director of Red Sea Security, said police initially thought the pair had been murdered.
But there had been nothing stolen from the villa and no other indications of disturbances.
