When people think about California they often picture a beach lifestyle. A beach lifestyle is constantly relaxing, always at the beach, essentially, living in a paradise. While that would be amazing, it just isn’t possible. There are many things Californians do just like everyone else like working and dealing with responsibilities. But in Huntington Beach, we get close to that paradise lifestyle almost every weekend. Living in Huntington Beach, we still have responsibilities but on the weekend, there is so much to do that it feels like a mini-vacation.
If you’re thinking about living in Huntington Beach, there are a few things you may want to know first that will definitely sway your decision.
The Beach Lifestyle
Huntington Beach is unofficially known as “Surf City U.S.A.” and it is obvious to see why. Surfers from all around the country come to Huntington Beach to catch some waves and hang out at the beaches. But that isn’t all there is to do at the beaches. In fact, you can catch a pro volleyball game, have a bonfire party at Bolsa Chica, enjoy ocean view restaurants, walk down one of the longest piers on the west coast, or watch the Lifeguard Biathlon. There are plenty of other things you can do while living in Huntington Beach as well.
Festival City
While Surf City is the unofficial nickname, may be festival city should be the unofficially unofficial nickname for Huntington Beach. The SoCal Film Festival is one of the best indie film festivals in the country, The U.S. Open of Surfing comes with festivals, Fourth of July has plenty of festivals, a city marathon, Kite parties, car shows, Surf City Nights, art walks and so many more festivals take up space in Huntington Beach. While these events bring in tourists regularly, it’s still very easy to enjoy them all when living in Huntington Beach.
Pets Allowed
Living in Huntington Beach with pets is very easy to accomplish and can get even more hands-on than anywhere else. Huntington Beach is filled with dog groomers, specialty dog food stores, even spas for dogs. Huntington Beach wouldn’t be complete without a beach where your dogs can run free and there is Dog Beach. There is plenty to do in Huntington Beach that will allow you to bring your pet with you and that makes having pets easier. Your pet will find a way to thank you after you start taking them to the pet spas regularly.
Making a Difference
Those living in Huntington Beach love nature, especially because they can easily enjoy it both at the beaches or at Central Park in the middle of town. This is probably why there are so many opportunities to get in touch with nature. There are many different events that take place in Huntington Beach for community service. The wetlands nearby are often the place where people go to make a difference by picking up trash or helping animals in need. The wetlands are where you will find many different animals like red-tailed hawks, cottontail rabbits, coyotes and more.
Enjoy a Bite or Two
There are many different places to enjoy a bite to eat and get something sweet. When living in Huntington Beach, you’ll have plenty of time to check out almost all of the places to eat that you can find. Ruby’s Diner is a great option with a 360-degree view of the ocean and the Taste of Huntington Beach event brings in places like Slater’s 50/50, Ra Sushi, Monkey House Cafe and more. This is a great opportunity for you to expand your tastes and just be thankful you live so close by to many of these restaurants.
