Food Network host Guy Fieri bringing 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' to Lansing

LANSING - Expect to see some of Lansing's finest restaurants on The Food Network next month.

Guy Fieri, the host of the network's popular show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," was spotted at several Capital City locations on Monday, Aug. 21. As was his signature vintage red Camaro convertible.

Several photos of the spikey-haired food show host also popped up on social media, including a stop at Zaytoon Lansing, a Mediterranean restaurant on Elmwood Road, and The Purple Carrot Food Truck.

"It's been hard keeping our lips sealed but we are so excited and so blessed to finally announce the reason for our closing," staff wrote on Facebook. "Today, Samy filmed Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri!"

Fieri also stopped at Meat Southern B.B.Q. & Carnivore Cuisine on Turner Street in Old Town, according to The Lansing State Journal, which first reported the host's presence in Lansing.

According to the Food Network, Fieri is in Lansing to film season 27, episode 5 of "Triple D." Titled "A Passport of Flavor," the episode will take him from Texas to Michigan "to dive into some gangster grub.

"He's doubling up in Lansing, Mich., with two off-the-hook joints puttin' out dynamite dishes," the synopsis reads.

The episode will also feature a Mexican bakery "goin' old school" with sandwich sourdough and tequila croissants in San Antonio. It is scheduled to premiere in late-September, according to the Food Network.
