COVID-19 and Neighbor Brigade
Update April 3
Neighbor Brigade Supporter

We hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We are currently in day 19 of having implemented our COVID-19 Support Initiative now being carried out in 16 of our chapters. Our service efforts continue to encompass the following populations:

  • Children on reduced and free lunches at schools
  • Homebound constituents of local food pantries
  • Seniors who need food and prescription medications delivered
  • Individuals and families at low-income and poverty levels
  • Quarantined or self-isolating residents that need help accessing essential supplies

We are thrilled to announce we are half way to our Go Fund Me campaign ! We still need your help to spread the word about our campaign so that we can reach our goal of $10,000 which will allow our staff and volunteers to continue responding effectively to those in crisis. Thank you for your support and please be safe.

Sincerely,

Polly Mendoza                       Colin Coleman
Executive Director              Board President
As our economy is shifting and businesses are temporarily closed, we are seeing the requests for help increase on a daily basis. Luckily we are also seeing our volunteer registrations skyrocketing and people are ready to help!
COVID-19 Service in Action
The Braintree Neighbor Brigade is partnering with the Marge Crispin Center coll ecting non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, and household paper products and also delivering food pantry groceries to homebound residents of the Center. The chapter volunteers are also collaborating with the Braintree Public Schools and distributing the grab and go lunches to homebound families.
The Mendon Neighbor Brigade is partnering with the Mendon Food Pantry and the Mendon Council on Aging to deliver supplies to their residents. Teamwork makes the dream work!

They also have collected gift cards to grocery stores and restaurants from their generous community members in Mendon & Upton which will be used for residents in need of support.
Join our Franklin Neighbor Brigade in their beautiful Letter Writing Challenge. Their message to their volunteers inspires us all, "In these times of uncertainty we know one thing clearly, that love never has to be rationed or quarantined. The truth is, we all need each other more than ever right now. We need each other in so many ways, both big and small. We need to rely and lean on one another and to be compassionate, understanding, and patient with one another. We need to focus on being there for one another in the best and safest way we can."
