A pool of 37 employees at the adult day care program at Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Commack won $50,000 in last night’s $700 million-plus Powerball drawing.

They picked four winning numbers plus the Powerball – and will split the prize, according to the center located at 68 Hauppauge Road in Commack.

They were planning to share the jackpot if they got lucky, according to Dave Krawec, transportation supervisor for the department.

“First thing I did when I came in was hand everyone an envelope with a copy of the ticket, and a note telling them we won!” said Krawec, who bought the winning ticket.

They won third prize, or $50,000 with the roughly $80 to spend with everybody pitching in. They spent $20 at four different locations.

The money translates into about $800 each after taxes, which they plan to use on things like Giants tickets, bills and toward tuition.
