Bud Light Is Placing Promotional Beer Fridges All Over Cleveland In Case the Browns Win a Game

If we were contemplating only the selfless side that the Cleveland Browns recently displayed, we might come to consider them among the most admirable sports franchises that believe in bolstering their communities. However, in completely evaluating the organization, we would have to say the football team has proven a tad too generous in an undesired way, too, as 31 of its 32 opponents in the last two seasons walked off the gridiron as winners. The Browns, coming off only the second winless season in National Football League (NFL) history, might have earned laughingstock status among many pigskin fans, but Bud Light is hoping for a brighter future for the once-proud squad, adding promotional fridges that will unlock cold ones when the team notches its first regular season triumph this campaign.

Entering their 70th professional season and 66th as a member of the NFL, the Browns will take a 17-game losing streak into their week one matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have proven proficient preseason performers, with last Thursday’s 20-10 victory over the New York Giants stretching their winning exhibition run to five games. The calendar does not consist of only August, though, so Bud Light, with a well-documented involvement with pro sports organizations and tournaments, is sympathizing with long-suffering fans through the fridges, which will open via wireless signal at FirstEnergy Stadium and a few other locations around Cleveland.

The kicker, though, is that the patient supporters will not have to pay a cent to celebrate the long-desired return to the win column. Given that the fridges, likely 10 in number, will hold around 200 beers, there will definitely not be enough brews to complement the awesome sense of relief that will wash over the fans, especially the so-called Dawg Pound. That could lead to a few logistical nightmares, but this all might play into Bud Light’s hands, as those who are not fortunate enough to score a freebie will probably want to join their brethren and will be glad to purchase a beer or four (please drink responsibly, no matter how elated you are, Browns buffs) to revel.

As for when the Browns might get their first taste of victory, well, that could prove difficult to predict, particularly if they do not land free agent Dez Bryant. Their schedule is incredibly daunting, but we are forecasting that they get off the schneid Sept. 20, with the New York Jets heading to Cleveland for a week three matchup. Of course, since this is the Browns we're talking about, we could easily foresee Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, if he earns the starting nod, throwing for 600 yards and five touchdowns against them.

If that happens, those brews might have to wait a long time, or maybe not, as the Los Angeles Chargers, the Browns’ lone victim the last two years, come to town three weeks later. If we were Bud Light, we would love for the streak to die right away, as who knows, perhaps the team could start a winning streak and fans could come to associate the company with their beloved football heroes.
