Disneyland Resort’s upcoming Star Wars land — Galaxy’s Edge — will open its doors in a little over a month (and later this year at Disney World). Visitors staying at Disneyland hotel resorts during the land’s first month have begun receiving e-mails confirming their time slots.

Disney previously announced that in the expansions’ first month, from May 31 to June 23, guests interested in entering the Galaxy’s Edge area of Disneyland would have two options:

  • They can make reservations at one of the park’s official hotels, in addition to purchasing regular park tickets. Each reservation grants one reserved space per stay for each hotel guest over the age of three.
  • Guests will also have the opportunity to make a no-cost reservation for Galaxy’s Edge — no hotel reservations required, though you will still need to purchase a ticket to Disneyland. Specific details for this process will be announced on May 2, 8AM PT, and the process will require a Disney account.

The announced hotel reservations run for a strict time slot of about four hours. The email about the reservations makes it clear that the time slots are to be taken very seriously. Should you decide to leave Galaxy’s Edge early, you will not be allowed back.

You and your party will be required to leave Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the end of your reservation time period. If you decide to leave Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before your reservation time is over, you will not be allowed to reenter.

While the email delineates the time slot and general rules, it is not the reservation itself. Details on how to redeem the reservation itself will be emailed the day before the guests’ check-in. For those not staying at a park hotel, details on how to make reservations will be available on the Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland.com on May 2 at 8 a.m. PDT, with the reservations opening two hours later at 10 a.m. PDT.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens its doors on May 31 in Anaheim’s Disneyland, and on Aug. 29 in Orlando’s Disney World.
