Mothers Talking

With Naomi Stadlen

Wednesdays, 10:00-11:30am

Naomi regrets that, in light of coronavirus and personal distancing recommendations, she will not be holding Mothers Talking groups at Active Birth Centre for the time being. For more information and details of potential online groups, please visit www.naomistadlen.com

Mothers Talking is a relaxed and friendly space for meeting other mums. It’s not like a casual chat among friends, though, it has a structure that encourages discussion, and is highly supportive, led by counsellor Naomi Stadlen. Few jobs other than motherhood leave women feeling so alone, so unsupported, and with so much responsibility. Mothers face all kinds of decisions, and many feel unprepared for this, or situations can be entirely unexpected. Relationships with family, friends and colleagues may also change when a first or subsequent child comes along.

It is heartwarming to discover, by talking, how much we all share as mothers. Talking affirms the importance of what we are doing as mothers and this group offers a wonderful space to share, to feel supported, and to realise that you are doing really well! Babies enjoy these meetings too. There is no age limit for them and both breast and bottle fed babies are welcome.

As a sensible precaution and for your reassurance, we are asking everyone coming to classes to please wash your hands well in the washroom on arrival, before coming into the group room – toddlers too! Also please give the class a miss if you have a cold or cough or feel unwell. ABC management.
