San Ramon High Schools Ranked In 2019 Niche List

Niche ranked the best public high schools in California. See how Tri-Valley high schools ranked.

SAN RAMON, CA — Contra Costa County high schools received their latest report card last week, as Niche.com released its 2019 rankings of the best public high schools in California. Dougherty Valley High in San Ramon ranked 29 and California High School ranked 113 on the list. A total of 919 schools were ranked across the state.

Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego is California's best public high school, according to the rankings. Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto, Troy High School in Fullerton, Palo Alto High School in Palo Alto and Miramonte High School in Orinda closed out the top five spots in the state.

According to Niche, the best public high school in the country is Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois.

To compile the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data and ratings collected from Niche users. (Read more about the methodology here.)
