Dial800 to rock exhibit at new “Connect to Convert” convention

Connect to Convert

Dial800 is an expert in conversions as an outcome of call marketing campaigns, but there’s always something new and up-and-coming in the industry.

That’s why company leaders plan to mingle, learn, explore and stage a significant exhibit at booth number 318 during Connect to Convert. As part of the LeadsCon series Connect to Convert is an industry convention coming up Aug. 22-24 in New York City.

Formerly known as LeadsCon New York, the convention has been “reimagined, rewired and redesigned” this year to provide more information for B2C and B2B professionals seeking leads in a few main verticals — insurance, mortgages/finance (school loan consolidation, business loans, payday loans), for-profit education, home services, health care and automotive.

Typically attended by some 2,000 industry professionals from around the world, this year’s revamped event will offer 30 learning sessions and access to more than 100 exhibiting solution providers.

Keynote speaker will be Tim Washer, a New York City-based comedy writer, business writer, emcee and social media guru who’s produced content for IBM, Cisco and FedEx. His presentation: “Unleash the Power of Storytelling: Build Trust, Win Hearts, Change Minds.”

Washer has served as VP for market research firm NFO Interactive and head of social media video production for IBM, and is now social media manager for Cisco Systems’ Service Provider Marketing group.

In his more creative capacities, he’s studied comedy writing under Tom Purcell of “The Colbert Report” and studied improv under SNL alumnus Amy Poehler, also writing for SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment. He’s appeared on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” the Onion Sports Network, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and a T-Mobile commercial featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones. His performances have been featured at events touting Pixar CEO John Lasseter, Emmy winner Tony Hale and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu, as well as events sponsored by The White House, IBM, Cisco, Deloitte, CDC, Google, SXSW, the Wall Street Journal and Content Marketing World. His writing has appeared in AdAge, Adweek, Fast Company, Forbes, Entrepreneur, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

Many of the other presentations at Connect to Convert provide information and guidance around acquiring B2B data on specific types of businesses; identifying which job functions represent the best prospects; nurturing prospective clients with appropriate content in appropriate channels and achieving conversions. Class titles range from “Everything You Need to Know About Phrasing Copy, Framing Offers & Fighting for Eyeballs” to “Mixed Messages: Attacking Vertical Markets With Horizontal Products.”

The convention will also feature Startup Innovation Spotlight, a competition through which five startups specializing in consumer lead generation, call centers, customer experience or other fields demonstrate their ideas for solving industry problems or improving processes. A judges’ panel will award the winner $25,000.

Connect to Convert organizers sponsor a similar convention called LeadsCon Las Vegas each spring.
