Krones Inc. to build training and technology center in Franklin

Krones Inc., a manufacturer of packaging and bottling systems in Franklin, says it is planning a $3.5 million expansion that includes a training and technology center.

Construction of the 40,000-square-foot facility in the Franklin Industrial Park is expected to begin next spring, the company said Tuesday, and the project will create at least 25 new jobs.

Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is providing the company with up to $300,000 in business development tax credits, with the amount awarded contingent upon the number of jobs created and the level of capital investment.

Krones Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of German-based Krones AG. The company has about 600 employees at its U.S. headquarters in Franklin.
