These oils protect your skin very effectively against damage from the environment. These sunscreen oils contain much more moisture than the thick creams traditionally used for sunscreens.

These oils offer more than just protection from the sun for your skin. Oils help lock in moisture so the sun does not dry out your skin.

This type of sunscreen can also be used in the hair, so it provides UV-protection and provides moisture. Dry oil sunscreens are safe to use.

What Is Dry Oil?

A dry oil is a type of oil that is quickly absorbed by the skin. These oils are all made from natural sources.

Dry oils have a much thinner consistency, making them easier to apply evenly to the skin. This helps to provide even coverage and more protection for the skin.

Dry oil is good for oily skin types. Oily skin occurs when there isn’t a good balance between oil and water content in the skin. The skin tries to regulate the skin by producing more oil. Applying oil helps the skin to stop producing too much oil to regulate the balance.

How Does Dry Oil Sunscreen Work?

Dry oil sunscreen works by quickly absorbing into the skin, without leaving a greasy or oily residue on the skin. This helps in moisturizing the skin to protect it from the sun’s UVB and UVA rays, which normally dry out the skin. Dry oil sunscreen can also be applied to the hair for protection against dryness.

This oil works on the skin by locking in the moisture and, in the process, prevents the sun from drying your skin. It may also contain tanning agents for darkening your skin when in the sun.

Why Dry Oil Sunscreen?

The reason dry oil sunscreen is popular is that it offers smooth non-greasy moisturizing protection.

Because it is an oil, it does not leave any residue on your hands when applying it. It also gives enhanced protection.

The benefits for the skin are another incomparable.

How Does Dry Oil Sunscreen Protect Your Skin?

Dry oil sunscreen protects your skin by locking in moisture when it is applied to the skin.

Because it’s an oil-based sunscreen, it is far more effective than traditional sunscreen. The oil is much easier to apply evenly, and that helps to protect the skin much more effectively.

What Happens To Your Skin When You Use This Type of Sunscreen?

When applying dry oil sunscreen to your skin, it locks the moisture in to protect the skin from getting dry.

It is also lightweight, and you don’t feel it on your skin after application.

This will also help to regulate the water and oil balance for your skin.

What Makes Dry Oil Sunscreen Different From Regular Sunscreen?

Regular sunscreens are greasy and may create a greasy feeling on your skin when applied. They may also leave a greasy residue on your hands, meaning you have to wash your hands after applying them to your skin.

When applying this to your skin, you won’t have that greasy feeling on your skin and your hands. Dry oil sunscreen also absorbs very quickly into the skin, offering for prolonged moisturizing and soothing effects.

The dry oil can also be used in your hair for protection against the sun’s rays.

What Are Their Main Differences?

The main difference between traditional sunscreen products and dry oil sunscreen is the oil and grease. But apart from that, there is also the fact that your skin can get damaged over time when using regular sunscreen.

Dry oil sunscreen is also lightweight, and you don’t even feel it on your skin after application.

What Are The Benefits?

The main benefit of using this type of sunscreen is that it moisturizes the skin by locking in the moisture.

This will help protect the skin from getting dried out by the sun. It will also help in protecting you from chapped skin and allergic reactions.

It also gives better coverage for more even protection.

What Skin Type Will This Work The Best For?

Dry oil sunscreen is suitable for most skin types.

It can greatly benefit people with sensitive skin as it adds moisture to the skin, which will prevent the skin from drying out.

It’s also very well suited for oily skin types.

Acne-prone skin may not benefit from dry oil sunscreen.

This is because of the oil-based ingredients of this type of sunscreen. Acne-prone skin type may react favorably to moisturizers, but it is best to get advice from a professional first.

Will It Cause Breakouts?

The thing is, this can possibly cause breakouts in certain skin types. This is because it contains oil.

It is advisable to use dry oil sunscreen SPF 50 if you’re not sure and you still want to try it.

Can You Use It For Your Face And Body or Not?

You can use the sunscreen oil spray for the face as well as for the body.

Dry oil sunscreen oil for the body can also be used for the face and the hair. The fact that it contains oil ingredients and greasy cream makes it easy to apply to the face and the body for more effective protection.

Is Dry Oil Sunscreen Better For Tanning?

Unfortunately this product is not really better for tanning. Unless the product specifically is for tanning, so it’s important to check!

You may tan faster with standard sunscreen.

The problem is that the damage that may be done to your skin will only be seen sometime later down the line. There are dry oil tanning sunscreens available that can be used for faster, more effective tanning.

  1. Happy to introduce you to them, Jill! And yes maybe even introducing dry oil sunscreen can help your boyfriend moisturize. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This is so interesting! I’ve never heard of dry oil sunscreen before. I am definitely a sunscreen addict so I am very diligent about applying sunscreen. My boyfriend on the other hand, still hates sunscreen haha. I will have to buy him some of this because he really hates the greasy feeling of traditional sunscreens. I love Alba Botanica! I’ve tried their sunscreen in a tube and I love it.

  3. I’ve never tried an oil sunscreen before because my skin is so sensitive I often use kids SPF on my body for the higher protection. It’s great that it’s not greasy if that’s a dealbreaker for you though x

  4. The differences in products can be confusing indeed, and knowing what they’re made of brings us one step closer to knowing what products are for us or not!

  5. I never used to understand the difference between dry oil sunscreens versus more traditional ones. However, I realize that these may not work for my skin (because I’m oily), but the moisturizing benefits sound awesome!
