Lately, Manish Malhotra was one of the celebrated participants of The Concours d’éléphant Auction led by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, hosted at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, London. A play on the traditional ‘concours d’élégance’ – a beauty parade for cars – Elephant Family combined the twin passions of its late founder Mark Shand; elegant automobiles and endangered elephants, to create the Concours d’éléphant.

The prestigious platform saw Manish Malhotra design the interiors of the iconic pink ambassador. Drawing inspiration from his recently handcrafted miniature showcased at the Elephant Parade – Prakriti, he combined his dual passion for nature and heritage crafts and translated the design into the interiors of one of the most celebrated cars in India.

The upholstery weaved the beautiful artistry of vibrant floral patterns combined with green tones of the Jade Feng Shui Elephant rendered in a style to mimic the traditional Meenakari craft, synonymous with the brand.

The proceeds from the auction support conservation of Asia’s rapidly dwindling elephant population and is thus, a creative effort to shed light and raise awareness for sustaining the endangered species.
