*A new Collective Agreement has recently been ratified. Salary ranges vary depending on province and are governed by the Collective Agreement.

The position can be filled in one of the Veterans Affairs Canada offices located in Canada. The successful candidate will likely be offered the position in the VAC office closest to their residence at the time the offer is made. The position may be staffed in one of many Veterans Affairs Canada offices located in Canada and manage Field Occupational Therapy Services Officers in several provinces. This does not imply tele-work; rather it means working from one of VAC's offices. The employee will be expected to perform all functions of the position remotely but report to a manager who may be working in another location and supervise Field Occupational Therapy Services Officer who are in multiple locations.

Candidates will be asked to provide proof of their education credentials (original documents only) at a later date. For foreign credentials, proof of Canadian equivalency will be required within one month of being contacted for assessment. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to begin this process at time of application to this selection process. Intent of the process

One indeterminate Bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) position to be staffed at this time. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions with a Bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) linguistic profile of various tenures.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of occupational therapy

Degree equivalency

Eligibility for acceptable registration or for a license to practice as a professional occupational therapist in a province or territory of Canada. (Note: Proof of registration in the province of practice must be met upon appointment but not necessarily at the point of application).

Significant* clinical experience in providing occupational therapy services to adults.
(Significant* is defined as the depth and breadth normally associated with approximately 5 years of experience.)
Experience working in an interdisciplinary team setting
Significant** experience managing*** staff.
(Significant** is defined as the depth and breadth normally associated with approximately 2 years of experience.)
(Managing*** would include responsibility for activities such as: employee performance; setting performance objectives; labour relations issues; recruitment/staffing)
