LSU Tigers to play CFP National Championship in Carley McCord’s honor

When the LSU Tigers take the field at Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the College Football National Championship Game, they won’t just be playing for the chance to be a part of history. They will take the field and compete to honor the late Carley McCord.

McCord, the daughter-in-law of LSU’s offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, was among five people killed in a plane crash on their way to attend the CFP Semifinal between LSU and Oklahoma.

Now just a few weeks after her tragic passing, the Tigers are dedicating this game in her honor and will play with the same passion and energy she had.

Playing in a game of this magnitude can be an emotional experience by itself. For the Tigers to dedicate it to McCord speaks volumes to the team’s character and the impact she had on everyone in the community.
