'Health without the high': Hemp Farmacy opens in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — "Health without the High" -- That is the slogan of a new store in Asheville.

The Hemp Farmacy celebrated the grand opening of its Asheville store on Tuesday, June 12.

Employees said this is the sixth Hemp Farmacy store to open in North Carolina and the first one in the western part of the state.

Hemp Farmacy is teaming up with Integrated Pain Solutions, an outpatient pain management facility.

"We offer an opioid alternative that is full spectrum hemp products," Puckett said.

One woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said a hemp dispensary is long overdue in Asheville.

"It's cheap. It's better for your body, and people would really prefer to use that to manage their pain than to go on an opioid," she said.

Puckett says all of the products sold here are hemp -- not marijuana -- and they are legal.

"All our products are industrial hemp located inside the United States, sourced inside the United States, and manufactured inside the United States," he explained.

Puckett adds that, unlike opioids, the hemp products, which include topicals, snacks, even treats for pets, do not upset the digestive system.

Hemp Farmacy is located at 1550 Hendersonville Road in Asheville.
