Riverdale fans have responded to that major Jughead flashforward twist in the midseason finale.

In a flashforward scene, the midseason finale brought the shocking cliffhanger that Betty had killed Jughead.
Basically, she was holding a rock in her hand while Jughead was laying unconscious on the ground. Did Betty really kill him?
Some fans of the series are upset about the possibility of Riverdale killing off Jughead, but others reckon that this might be one of Betty's nightmare conditions – so the whole scenario might have only played out in her head.

"Betty killing Jughead with a rock could just be a nightmare that she has because she is terrified of becoming full on dark Betty and a serial killer," one fan wrote. "However I'm not sure if they would have such a huge cliffhanger for the midseason finale if it isn't even real."
"I swear to God if Betty Cooper kills Jughead Im going to cry [BLOCK CAPS]," wrote someone else.
"I refuse to believe Betty killed Jughead," another one added.
Riverdale season 4 airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW in the US. In the UK, you can stream via Netflix every Thursday.
