Month of Love and So Much More (and how do I deal with Facebook's new algorithms?)

Month of Love and So Much More (and how do I deal with Facebook's new algorithms?)

February 2018.

Wow, we are only halfway through the month and so much has happened. The Winter Olympics are well underway. Zuma has resigned and Cyril is the new South African president. Zimbabwean opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, has passed away. Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn has resigned. Mayor of Cape Town, Patricia De Lille, has survived a vote of no confidence. 17 people have been shot in a Florida school by a gunman in the USA. Facebook has undergone a grueling introspection resulting in their algorithms changing radically to please the social users of Facebook, rather than the marketers. And through it all, billions of people have endured or celebrated Valentine’s Day.

Change. It takes place in a moment and everything is different. In a short space of time so much takes place. People win and people lose. People are born and people die. New heads of nations come into being. Old leaders limp away. The way we work is revised and reinvented. Yet, we continue. Life carries on. People still go about everyday things. Love grows or dies.

So, what does it all mean? Carry on. Find the best way forward, but keep going. Keep believing. Keep loving. Keep hoping. Change your methods. Look for opportunities. It will all change again and we’ll find the ways to deal with it. And as for Facebook, post quality, give value and stop trying to hack the system.
