We start this month with an excellent collaboration project between RISE and Brandskyddslaget called Evacuation Experiment in Rail Tunnels which looks into the evacuation of public during incidents in rail tunnels.

We report on the new 3000 Series from AICO a technologically advanced series that for the very first time includes a Multi-Sensor Heat & CO Alarm. We also look at how 15,000 students at Chichester College are being protected by the industry-leading MxPro 5 fire panel from Advanced.

Our videos section takes a look at Research & Development at Dafo Fomtec and a video looking at the latest range of Fire Hydrant Valves from Delta Fire.

Evacuation Experiment in Rail Tunnels

Elevated platforms have become increasingly common in rail tunnels. Due to the reduced height difference compared to evacuating a train directly down to the track area, elevated platforms have been proposed as a way of increasing the safety of passengers and personnel.
