    I became a fan of Kelly Gendron with the Declan brothers’ series so when I see the spinoff from this series on the Kane brothers I had to pick this up and am I glad that I did. We are first introduced to Token Kane as he is trying to save someone who is determined to end her life. The man who helped Token out after his ordeal on the bridge is the same man who helped Token fulfill his dream of being a boxer. That didn’t last for long as an incident in a bar scarred Token and he gave up on the promising career in boxing. Eventually he has come to terms with what happened and has moved forward in his life. Now he is employed by Bronx to do various “jobs” for him one of which is bringing Harley Redbourne back to him. Token has no idea what her relationship to Bronx is nor does he care…that is until he meets her. Harley has had a tough life and is struggling with her past. Then Token comes into her life and the two have a connection that neither of them understands. It’s a great romance story of one has come to terms with not letting the past define his future and the other is struggling with her past and doesn’t know how to live in her future.

    As in her past books Ms. Gendron has a knack for pulling you in and keeping you on the edge of your seat for the entire book just waiting to see if her characters will make it through and if they do what is the cost to them personally. She sure knows how to throw in surprises along the way too! I definitely cannot wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the Kane brothers because she has already built a great basis for each of them. If you have not read the Declan brothers series I would definitely recommend them as well.

    Token has that perfect alpha bad boy persona but yet, he has a heart of gold. He is a little lost after some tragic incidents which changes the direction of his life. When he is sent on a mission for Bronx, he never expects Harley to smack right into his life. Harley is a very strong, tough woman. After the death of her family, she was pushed into a cold world and had to figure out how to survive. Her uncle made sure she didn’t want for nothing but, at the same time, she never felt loved. She is shocked by the connection she feels to Token. As these two fight their attraction, they become friends and for the first time, these broken souls share their darkest secrets creating a strong bond. I loved how Kelly Gendron gave me two strong and determined characters to embrace while showing their vulnerabilities. I also had a few unexpected surprises as their story unfolded that kept me guessing and turning the page. We are also introduced to the Kane family which leaves me wanting to learn all of their secrets. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

    Token Kane is taken his retirement from the ring well and likes the feel of his motorcycle, but the next Harley pick up will be a little more more trouble, he sets out and she's a beauty, a sexy beauty, but broken and he decides to help her out, but first he has to find the strength to be a good guy and keeps his dirty hands to himself while he brings her back.
    Harley is a woman with troubles, drinking to forget, unable move on, but she feels safe with Token and hopes may he will be able to mend her broken heart.
    I really enjoyed this story. Token is a great character, full of strength and determination.
    The development of the story great. It was an entertaining book, it had joy, sadness, anger and passion, it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
    I can't wait for the next in the series. This one is a definite must read!

    So worth the wait. I devoured Token and the rest of his family. They are scrum shish. Have you read the DeClan Brothers. If you haven't you might want to think about it. There is a link--Zeke DeClan's Lurlene is the Kane brothers' sister--less than six degrees of separation between the series. Just a quick job and you are into the land of mega hunks in California.

    Less that six degrees of separation flows through Token's story. He is hired by Bronx, the man that owns the gym Token worked and trained at, to go pick up a girl, Harley, in LA. He doesn't know there is a connection but he knows there is "connection" as soon as they meet.

    Token tries to connect with Harley, but her walls are thick and high. Token can see into her soul and he sees himself. He is the connection to Harley's survival. Loved the emotional rollercoaster. I was shocked by some of the revelations, stories. Best of all love flows through the pages.

    Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for Steele's book. Let me tell you that the epilogue had me screaming NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    Loved Token and Harley! I’ve recently purchased Steele and set myself to reading Token first, so I didn’t miss out on anything and boy oh boy am I happy I read it:) Token is assigned by his boss to go and collect Harley, not realising why or asking any questions. Harley usually takes one week a year on the anniversary of her family to indulge in everything bad, when she wakes up and finds herself in a stranger’s hotel room.

    A story of heartbreak, passion and learning life lessons but one which eventually comes full circle to make you realise you are alive and to live your life to the fullest:) Beautiful story and intrigued to find out what happens in Steele next.

    I really enjoyed this story! I connected easily with the characters and storyline and was invested from the beginning. I adored Token, loved his confidence and could feel his cockiness and swagger but it's his soft side that really captured me. My heart breaks for Harley and all the loss she's been dealt, for sure she's a survivor but it really does take a toll emotionally. I'm hooked now and am looking forward to the next Kane Brothers story.

    First read Breaking the Declan brothers trilogy series and then follow up with this book, so you'll have the history of the characters. This book has all of the elements that you would want in a book. It brings all of the characters to life as if you're right there, living each moment with them. You'll experience happiness, sadness, a want to nurture and also an intense hunger for sexual actions. Oh yeah! Kelly Gendron did great in the erotic department with this book. TOKEN!!! Oh! My! Damn! TOKEN had me on fire! Hell who am I kidding, Harley was pretty Damn hott herself. Overall this storyline was phenomenal. I would totally recommend reading this book. I look forward to reading the next book when it's released.

    I am really enjoying this series. This is the second book I've read in this series (yeah, I started at the end) and I'm really loving this family. Token was tough and fierce and even a little funny. So sexy and sweet. Harley was so beautifully broken. My heart hurt for Harley and Bronx most of all, and all they lost. I'm really looking forward to getting to know this family a little better. Both books I've read so far have had pretty unique stories. Can't wait to see what the author does with the rest of the family.
