Tony Wood’s charming response to Sydney Usleton’s accidental text asking for an opinion on a party dress went viral

A woman raised $27,000 for a for year-old leukemia sufferer after she accidentally texted a stranger to ask for advice on a dress she wanted to wear to a party.

Sydney Uselton sent the snaps to dad of six Tony Wood, who replied telling her she looked wonderful, and sharing a photo of his children giving her the thumbs-up.

He wrote: ‘My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress!

‘You should definitely go with that one!’

The heartwarming exchange went viral online, after Michigan University student Sydney’s friend Mandi Miller shared them online.

Sydney accidentally sent Tony a snap of this dress – and his reply was extremely gentlemanly

And soon afterwards it emerged Tony’s four year-old son Kaizler had leukemia kind-hearted strangers raised $15,000 for his treatment.

Promoting the GoFundMe page Tony, of Tennessee said: ‘Hello! Apparently you have made my children Twitter famous!

‘My second youngest has a Facebook page for his fight against Leukaemia…[By the way,] my wife agreed the dress looked great!’

Tony spoke of his shock and delight after the cash began rolling in, tweeting: ‘The kindness and generosity of Twitter and other venues saw our GoFundMe account surpass our goal last night.

“I can’t begin to thank everyone enough.

He shared a photo of his five children giving the thumbs up, and later appealed for help raising funds for his four year old son Kaizler’s leukemia treatment (Kaizler pictured far right)

His message prompted an outpouring of help, with $27,000 raised for Kaizler as of Monday afternoon

‘This is a major hour of need for us and this blessing will help more than you know.

Tony said Kaizler is currently in the ‘maintenance’ phase of his treatment, which will continue until next April.

He also explained his reason for responding so positively to the rogue text, telling MailOnline: ‘Society puts a lot of pressure on these young women to have a certain look and a certain body build.

‘We try to teach our children to be themselves and not worry about what others think …

‘Even with that, my young daughters already express a desire to ‘fit in’ and I figured this young lady might need that reassurance.’
