TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach K-5 science lab. I have also taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, and middle school science. I have a specialty in hands-on science investigations and science fairs. I have been the coordinator of science fairs for many years. I love teaching science and providing hands-on experiences that inspire kids to explore the world around them. I love sharing my passion for science fairs and hands-on learning with others.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am very hands-on and like group work as well as individual. I believe science education should be a mix of structured investigations as well as time to just explore. I believe teaching is about creating memorable moments. I try to integrate reading strategies into science to better help students understand the material. Never underestimate the ability of a child. Give them the right tools and time to explore and they will discover the world around them. Kids love science and it should be embraced in the early elementary years.
