Most stars spend months contemplating what they’ll wear for Oscars night, but for Rita Moreno the choice was simple. The 86-year-old acting icon is among the few celebrities ever to have won all four major entertainment awards (she's the proud owner of an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony), so she knows a thing or two about getting ready for a big night. For Oscars 2018, all Moreno had to do was look into her own closet and select the same gown she’d worn back in 1962, the year she took home Best Supporting Actress for her role in West Side Story. Modified slightly, with the neckline changed and a golden necklace added for dramatic effect, Moreno’s recycled look was a welcome change of pace from the direct from the runway designs worn by the other attendees.

When it comes to fashion, Moreno has always done her own thing. For the original gown, she selected the fabric herself in the Philippines before having it made. Flying in for the 1962 ceremony, she could never have foreseen that she’d make history, or that she’d be pulling out the same look again four decades later. “I had no idea I was going to win, I was sure it was going to be Judy Garland for Judgment at Nuremberg,” Moreno shared with E! host Ryan Seacrest. Becoming the first Latina actress to ever take home an award, Moreno became a Hollywood legend. Now serving as one of the evening’s presenters, she continues to blaze her own trail by proving that a truly great look never goes out of style—no matter how often you wear it.
