Goya de Puerto Rico has recalled “Adobo with Cumin Seasoning” (28-ounces) and “Adobo with Pepper Seasoning” (28-ounces) due to a risk of food poisoning with Salmonella bacteria.
No illnesses have been reported, but people who eat food that is contaminated with Salmonella can develop serious and sometimes fatal infections. The risk is greatest for young children, frail or elderly people, and others with a weakened immune system.
This recall involves 661 cases of adobo products that were distributed in Puerto Rico through retail stores.
Goya Adobo with Cumin Seasoning is packaged in a 28-oz plastic jar with a green cap that is marked with a “Best-By” date of 10/18/22.
Goya Adobo with Pepper Seasoning is packaged in a 28-oz plastic jar with a red cap that is marked with a “Best-By” date of 10/23/22.
Consumers who bought any of these products should contact Goya de Puerto Rico to receive a replacement or a full refund.
