Learning about engineering for National Engineers Week!


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Did you know February 18-24 is National Engineers Week?

Tamara Carter Murphy is a graduate of Hoggard High School and North Carolina A&T State University and stopped by Good Morning Carolina to explain her job with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District. She went through four years of college to obtain her degree as a Civil Engineer.

Engineers are changing the world all the time. They dream up creative, practical solutions and work with other smart, inspiring people to invent, design, and create things that matter.

Engineers Week is a time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world, increase public dialogue about the need for engineers and bring engineering to life for kids, educators and parents.

There are so many types of engineering careers including: Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Biomedical and Medical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and more.
